I'm currently re-downloading the client because the other launcher I installed bricked on me, and I couldn't revert, so I had to start over. I'm downloading at south of 56kbps, and its driving me up a wall.

FYI, the main seedbox is offline while I look for a new home for it.

Hey Tau, I've been doing the same thing over in this thread, is there a way we could combine our efforts. I'm willing to move myself over to your thread, but there are some tips and things that I think are worth bringing over as well, will you take a look?

I haven't tested the DHT portion thoroughly, I should probably try, or not. If you think it's better to run the torrents your way I'll go with that. I've been running without trackers, and using the CCP links as web seeds. Problem is I wouldn't see that traffic in my torrent client (uTorrent), and nobody stops by to say their torrent downloads worked (though I do see peers).

When I run the installer, I'm getting a "Target payload not found" message, very early in the process. I suspect I'm doing something dumb - would you be able to help?

(Ive extracted the files into a folder with the installer exe - also tried extracting them into their own folders in the same folder as the exe.)

So if I download this, delete and uninstall the game, and then reinstall -- the launcher will work and I'll be able to play again?

Sorry if this is common sense, I've been unable to really enjoy this game beyond a day or two since Feb and when I uninstall it takes me a very long time to connect to CCP's servers to download anything :((

Thanks for the reply Tau. The launch language change doesn't work for me unfortunately -- and there's no way for me to patch the game to use the .exe file.

I'm pretty bored atm Googling Star Citizen atm, but am open to additional ideas on how to connect for sure!

Spent 2 days trying to get the game to work, tried the offline download from CCP directly, but everytime internet drops even slightly it stops download and wont restart and the launcher is useless.

Wish transmission was a bit more friendlier on my NAS, fails catastrophically after a few days.

I downloaded the latest one, but getting a 2709 installer error. Torrent recheck and manual sum checks pass, I've also copied the entire folder on another drive, still the same error. Can't install the game from CCP as I get 30kb max from their servers(I wish I was kidding).

Is it a problem with the packages, the installer, or a CCP issue? Anyone else having problems?

I'm nearly done downloading it again (~ 20MB/sec) and will verify shortly.

It is possible the installer on CCP site is borked, but that is harder for me to test until I get home.

Any news about the "error code 2709"?

The new bootstrapper yesterday decided to bork my installation saying I was missing 7000-ish files (basically all of them) and tried to download them again, so I downloaded the offline version but cannot install it.

Version is 988883 as per CCP's offline installer

Just a quick update.

There haven't been any CCP releases to the installer executable since my last post.

However, I'm suspicious that CCP may have been updating the resource file instead, which isn't versioned.

Once I check into this -- not right now, it is too late in my timezone -- I'll post again.
